Daily Tip:

"Crystal´s Mood"

all set up for long holidays...
10.11.04 (5:52 am)   [edit]

sorry guys, I´ve been quite busy for the last few days preparing for my long holidays...and many things I had to do...

the other day I went to ADAC to collect my translated driver´s license...it costs me €59.60, I was taken aback...that´s so expensive and unexpected...juz to translate a small piece of card with little information there cost me that much.  I told the guy with my broken German "Ich denke das ist nur fünfunddreizig euro, die Damen hat gesagt das ist ungefähr  €35" (I thought it´s juz €35, the lady told me that´s around €35) then he replied something which I understand a little bit like this..."yes, for Asian is like that"...but I said again "aber in Münich das ist nur €35, warum das ist sehr teuer hier?" (but in Münich it´s only €35, why here is so expensive?)  and then he said again...because in Münich there are so many people or Asian and not like here.  I was so mad, they think that I´m so stupid...it´s all bullshit!!!  I think they are juz trying to make money out of this situation...I had no choice but to pay them.  If I´d knew earlier this is going to be so expensive I would have done it in Münich before....they are crazy!!!

and then last Thursday I decided to loosen up a little bit, went for bowling with my friend, Nia...then we went for buffet lunch, I bought an orange set of pullover and trouser for Fiona for her upcoming birthday, I guess she´ll look wonderful in this season...and then we had cappuccino at Mr. Bleck, ...it´s like a must to have a cappuccino before we go home...not only that they offer you a free coffee if you get 10 times stamped on your coffee card...that´s the point of being addicted to it...I guess it sounds normal, right?

on weekend, I decided to take it easy and started to pack a little bit...whoa! my suitcase is almost full now but still I don´t have much clothes to take along...hmm...it´s already heavy...full of chocolates and souvenirs...lucky I have some clothes left in KL...that should be enough and I could still buy there if I need it...

tomorrow I have to get up as early as possible, get ready myself and my luggages, catch a train at 10.30am from Nürnberg, so I´ll arrive in Frankfurt airport around 12.45pm...check-in at Terminal 1, Emirates counter...then mingle around before I depart at 3.15pm...so I´ll have a long haul flight, I have standby my books to read along...then I´ll arrive in KL on Wed afternoon...I hope my friend is waiting outside for me...

so guys...I dunno if I could find time to blog or not during my holidays but I´ll try hard to update some...but please don´t miss me so much...I promise to upload some pictures when I get back...

Bamberg...
10.05.04 (9:48 am)   [edit]

For your info, last Sunday (3-Oct) was a National day in Germany...it´s actually the reunion of East Germany and West Germany.

So back to the story of Sunday...I went to Bamberg juz for a day trip.  It´s about an hour driving from Erlangen.  Bamberg is the world heritage with a rich stock of trees and charmingly landscaped between the two arms of the River Regnitz.  I believe you guys wanna see more pics, right?

that´s the view of Old Town Hall...A bridge led over the river at this point as early as the 11th century.  The town hall was built in the middle of the 14th century and rebuilt by the Bamberg citizens after a fire disaster in 1440.

that´s the view of the Bamberg Cathedral...The imperial cathedral of St. Peter and St. George goes back to a foundation by Emperor Heinrich II who founded the bishopric of Bamberg in 1007.

that´s partly the view of the New Residence...the four-winged complex was built in two stages.  The Baroque wings facing the cathedral were built under Prince Bishop Lothar Franz von Schönborn by Leonhard Dientzenhofer between 1697 and 1703.

that´s the view of an Old Court...the Old Court is the former imperial and bishop´s palace and was directly connected with the cathedral.  You walk through the "Schöne Pforte" to reach the inner courtyard which is surrounded by half-timbered buildings.  The Calderon Theatre Frestival takes place there in the summer.

that´s the view of Am Kranen...Main-Danube Canal Cruises on the River Regnitz and the Landing Stage at "Am Kranen"

that´s the view of "Klein Venedig" (Little Venice)...the former fishermen houses are lovingly named Klein Venedig and provide a spectacular view from the "Leinritt" (townpath) on the opposite bank.  Small medieval half-timbered buildings with balconies and tiny gardens in front line the bank of the River Regnitz.  Klein Venedig is the picture-sque backgroud for the "Sandkwera", which takes place in August, with the fishermen´s jousting contest and the Italian Night to name just some of the highlights.

So how do you like these pictures?  Please leave your comments...

Monday morning blues...
10.04.04 (4:26 am)   [edit]

As usual my Monday morning blues...busy with cleaning, mopping, vacuuming and laundry...too much works to be done today as weekend was rather my resting days out of the week or at least I consider so...

I was reading my second book last week but the progress was pretty slow...I was interrupted by many things in between and juz managed to finished it on Friday evening...last week I had a lot of things to do...I need to look for a gift for a friend´s wedding, to get some souvenirs for family and friends, so it took up quite a bit of my time there looking around...and I didn´t seem to find the right things to buy...ahhh!!! I gave up...ok don´t panic. Don´t panic.  It´s simply a question of being organized and staying calm and deciding what exactly I need to buy...

and I have still something to do this week...to look for the birthday gift for Birgit´s daugther, Fiona.  Her birthday will be around end of October but I need to pass the gift before I depart...oh! yes, my flight back to KL has become more precise now...I´ll be flying back to KL on 12-Oct via Dubai...I´ll be arriving in KL on 13-Oct in the afternoon.  hey KL...I´m coming!!!  Can´t wait to see the new developments...you´ll never know there, one or two weeks you don´t go out to the city, many changes were made.......more and more new high rise buildings coming up from time to time....imagine that I´ve been away since May so there must be a lot of changes done to the city...

hmmm...."KL, The City That Never Sleep", because you´ll find Starbucks or Coffee Beans at every corner....
